Gran Paradiso Film Festival 2025

‎Founded in 1984, the Gran Paradiso Film Festival is one of the most important international events dedicated to nature cinema and a cultural landmark in the Aosta Valley.

Its mission is clear and profound: to promote environmental film culture, foster awareness of our natural heritage, and encourage a genuine respect for the environment.

The Festival takes place in the breathtaking setting of Gran Paradiso National Park, Italy’s oldest national park, established in 1922 to protect the Alpine ibex.
Amid its peaks, silence, and rich biodiversity, the Festival has found its perfect stage—a place where nature becomes story, inspiration, and vision.

It’s an immersive cultural experience that celebrates wild beauty and invites us to see the world with fresh eyes - through cinema, creativity, and a deeper sense of awareness.

Silenzi in quota by Andrea Paternolli e Mario Pedron

Mountains evoke silence and vast spaces, but what happens when human noise intrudes? The Silence in the Heights collective uses microphones and people to measure mountain soundscapes, exploring the balance between nature and human impact. It’s an invitation to pause, listen, and live the highlands more mindfully.

In Zanskar, Himalayan glaciers have long supplied water, but warming is shrinking them. To combat shortages, Ladakh communities create artificial glaciers using old and new techniques.
