Và
Sentiero

Movie Release: 20th October

Va’ Sentiero follows an extraordinary three-year journey along the Sentiero Italia, the world’s longest trekking route. Covering 7,887 kilometers across all 20 Italian regions, the documentary captures a generation’s decision to slow down, embrace the path, and rediscover the most authentic side of Italy through its landscapes, communities, and stories.

About the movie.

Seven young people set out to walk the entire Sentiero Italia, the longest hiking trail in the world. Covering 7,887 kilometers across 20 regions, with hundreds of mountains, thousands of encounters, and a journey spanning three years, what begins as a simple hiking challenge soon becomes something much greater: a journey into Italy's hidden heartland, through small villages, mountain communities, and places resisting depopulation, where people still believe that a different future is possible.

Amid breathtaking landscapes, extraordinary encounters, and deeply human moments, Va' Sentiero tells the story of a fragile yet remarkably resilient Italy, where walking becomes a way to discover, listen, and create change. A visually stunning documentary that combines the epic scale of a great adventure with the depth of human storytelling, transforming an extraordinary expedition into a reflection on the world we live in today.

Và Sentiero.

Va’ Sentiero is a project founded in 2017 to celebrate and promote Italy’s mountains through the simple act of walking. Created by a group of young explorers, including Yuri Basilicò, Sara Furlanetto, and Giacomo Riccobono, it is built around a simple yet powerful idea: walk, discover, share.

Through documentary expeditions across Italy’s mountain regions, Va’ Sentiero explores trails and territories, collecting technical, cultural, and gastronomic insights and turning them into stories, images, and videos. At the heart of the project are community engagement, shared experiences, and the promotion of a slower, more conscious way of traveling.

Each journey becomes an opportunity to rediscover the natural and cultural heritage of Italy’s inland and mountain areas while contributing to their preservation and enhancement.

The book "Va’ Sentiero. In Cammino per le Terre Alte d’Italia"

The Va’ Sentiero collective is also the driving force behind several editorial projects, including Va’ Sentiero. In cammino per le Terre Alte d’Italia (Rizzoli, 2024).

Created with the support of Montura, the book is an inspirational journey along the Sentiero Italia, the world's longest trekking route. Featuring 25 selected itineraries across all twenty Italian regions, it combines photography, travel narratives, and stories from the trail, celebrating the landscapes, cultures, and communities that make Italy’s mountains unique.
