La mia vita finchè capita

"My Life as It Happens" is a documentary dedicated to a complex man, portrayed up close with a fiercely intimate approach that takes the viewer on a continuous journey back and forth through time. Mauro remembers and recounts his world as it once was, sharing his life story, his childhood and early adolescence—the carefree moments alternating with the incomprehensible violence of family life and the tragedies that struck his homeland. Then come adulthood and old age—the present—carrying the weight of an entire life, with a gaze turned toward the afterlife, which Corona himself distills into his mocking epitaph: "Here lies Mauro Corona, an iniquitous and wicked man. Praying for him is a waste of time."

The film is written, directed, and edited by Niccolò Maria Pagani. For the shooting, Pagani left Milan and moved to the village of Erto Vecchia for the seven months of production and editing, in order to better immerse himself in the soul of the town, the Vajont valley, and Corona’s life.
