Dolomiti Rescue

Race 2025

Bringing together Alpine Rescue professionals in the ultimate test of teamwork and resilience.

The Dolomiti Rescue Race is a one-of-a-kind competition held among the spectacular limestone peaks of Northern Italy, at the foot of Mount Antelao. The 10-mile race combines steep uphill running through forests and pastures, technical via ferrata-style sections, and sharp descents, including rope abseils of over 30 meters.

The course culminates in Pieve di Cadore, where athletes face the final challenge: assembling and carrying a stretcher to the finish line in the town’s central square, cheered on by an enthusiastic crowd. Each year, teams from all over Europe—including Italian Alpine Rescue units and international squads—compete in this test of endurance, technical skill, and teamwork, experiencing an intense mix of adrenaline, strategy, and camaraderie.

First held in 2011 to strengthen the bonds among Alpine Rescue members after a series of tragic accidents, the event has since grown into a unique gathering that blends competition with the celebration of the Alpine community, challenging participants’ physical stamina, technical ability, and capacity for cooperation at high altitude.

Montura has always stood alongside Alpine Rescue teams: years of collaboration, feedback, and mutual trust led to the creation of the Workframe line, designed for those who face the mountains not only out of passion but as part of critical missions. Listening to and sharing experiences with rescuers gave rise to technical garments built around real needs—many of which have become international benchmarks. When every detail can make the difference, Montura celebrates the heroes who risk their lives every day to save others.

The Dolomiti Rescue Race is more than a competition: it’s pure adrenaline, true teamwork, and an extraordinary celebration of the mountains - and of those who protect them.
