Dolomiti di Brenta Trail
Where trail running meets the soul of the Dolomites
Dolomiti di Brenta Trail is a trail running competition set among the spectacular Brenta Dolomites, a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site. An extraordinary alpine landscape frames a demanding and technical race, where intense effort is rewarded with some of the most breathtaking scenery in the Alps. The race starts and finishes on the shores of Lake Molveno, the beating heart of the event and repeatedly awarded as the most beautiful lake in Italy. From here, athletes traverse iconic locations of the Brenta group such as Andalo, Cima Santa Maria, Cima di Campa, Passo del Grosté, and the legendary central peaks: Cima Brenta, Crozzon di Brenta, Cima Tosa, and Campanil Basso, before descending through Bocca di Brenta back to the lake.Launched in 2015, the event has grown steadily, expanding its courses to 21 km, 45 km, and 64 km and welcoming an increasingly international field. With up to 1,000 runners from dozens of countries and sold‑out editions well in advance, Dolomiti di Brenta Trail has become a benchmark event on the international trail running scene.
Montura confirms its role as main sponsor and partner for the 2026 edition, which will offer participants the opportunity to test themselves across three scenic routes — so mark your calendar for September 5, 2026!
The 2026 edition of the Dolomiti di Brenta Trail will stand alongside the long‑term humanitarian work of Operazione Mato Grosso in Vilcabamba, Peru, supporting a project rooted in education, community development and social inclusion.
Set high in the southern Andes at 3,500 meters above sea level, Vilcabamba is a remote mountain valley where Operazione Mato Grosso has been working continuously since 1993. Over the years, the initiative has grown thanks to the permanent presence of volunteers and the guidance of Father Lino Faccin, who later became the parish priest, giving structure and continuity to the project.
Across a network of villages ranging from 3,500 to 1,800 meters in altitude, schools, residential facilities and vocational training centers have been established. These offer young people practical skills and education, with training programs focused on woodworking and metal carpentry for boys, and mosaic art for girls. In Pucyura, the most developed town in the valley, two cooperatives — Familia de Artesanos Don Bosco and Familia de Artesanas Maria Auxiliadora — provide stable employment opportunities, transforming craftsmanship into a concrete means of independence.
